What is a CO-OP? A cooperative has a unique culture that is important for applicants to understand. Members function as a "community". All members are expected to "work" in the shop as well as offer services on one committee. This community effort allows artists to maintain a majority of their sales. On the application, you will be asked to indicate other areas of expertise or interest so we can help you work with a committee in support of the Co-op.

The purpose of the Made in Warren Artist Cooperative is to allow artists from southeastern New England to effectively market their art and merchandise to the public through a cooperative effort.  The storefront provides these artists greater exposure and sales for a small financial and time commitment. We are also part of the Warren community, working with Art Night Bristol Warren and Discover Warren, to further support the vibrancy of downtown Warren.

RULES/GUIDELINES: All artists who reside in or are connected with the southeastern New England community will be considered for membership. The cooperative is limited to forty-five members, and each artist’s contracts run from the date of signed contract for one subsequent year. In addition to a monthly membership fee (paid annually or monthly), each member is responsible for an annual contract fee at the start of each new contract. Each artist is also responsible to work either (one) eight hour hour shift or (two) four hour shifts each month as part of their obligation to the cooperative, as well as supporting the Cooperative in some other capacity.

The artist is responsible for providing their own display (which they will own) if needed. The artist shall own all rights to any item that is being displayed and is responsible for insuring their own works, if desired. Rhode Island art sales are tax free!
